In 2021 I spent $47,000-50,000 on personal development

In 2022 I calculated I spent roughly $70,000 + on in person workshops, retreats, online courses and masterminds (like Baby Bathwater Institute).

Salmon River, Idaho - Sep ‘22. Among some of the smartest entrepreneurs ever, in my fav place, nature.

In 2021 I calculated I spent roughly $47,000-50,000 on personal development.

My very non “woo woo” and very confused accountant every financial year goes “this is what you spent on personal development?”

In 2022 I calculated I spent roughly $70,000 + on in person workshops, retreats, online courses and masterminds (like Baby Bathwater Institute).

Why did I spend that?

Because money is energy. Money is expansive should we choose. Every time I have spent money on something I have received an incredible lesson, it’s either been “this is exactly how I want to live” or “this is exactly how I don’t want to live, thank you for the re-direction, the lesson and the obvious” and of course, everything in between those extremes.

I never look at money spent like a ‘waste’ because that would mean there’s no more money coming, that it’s a finite resource and it won’t come back to me or circulate once more.

Of course in the moment it can feel like “what a fucking inconvenience” but overall, the more we put our money where we wanna put it (without resisting and avoiding) we get the lesson we wanted a lot faster.

Investing/spending money collapses time and upgrades you in ways you never could have imagined.

The way I see it is this…

If you resist spending money on yourself and your expansion

You resist growth. You are telling the universe you are ok staying where you are because what’s more important is hoarding and/or fearing money and doing it by yourself.

In 2018 when I started my business I got an overdraft for $5k to work with a coach. I had no clients, no idea how I would pay it back, I was running on faith and faith alone.

What I did know is I needed support more than I needed to succumb to my money fears.

That support alone turned into my second year of business surpassing $100k.

I’ve only ever made money when I have felt supported. I can’t make money when I feel alone. That’s why I created the Messy Action Members Club - because entrepreneurship can be so lonely when it’s just us, our thoughts and our past trauma ruling the roost.

We dive into all of this and some in the Messy Action Members Club - our first call is next week. Wanna join us? Please book a call with me to see if it’s a mutual fit here.
