Where I grew up there’s not many people like me 😥

Hey

The most potent problem I personally experience is entrepreneurial loneliness.

Where I grew up there’s not many people like me that went all in on a dream they had no idea would work out, let alone continually sustain 6+ years later.

Where I currently live there’s not many people like me that live the way I live, that fully support their own lifestyles with work that comes from them alone, without the support of anyone else (husband, spouse etc), especially as a woman.

This can accentuate feelings of being an outcast, like people just don’t get it and that my problems are just so different to anything they are experiencing. This causes me not to share or scoot over my very real emotions because “how could they possibly understand, they’re just too different”.

This is the sneaky work of the ego

The ego loves to keep us feeling ‘unique’ and ‘stuck’ in our own heads about how our situation is so different, embarrassing and/or shameful.

When we boil it down, all roads lead to Rome, meaning, all humans feel a broad spectrum of emotions and it doesn’t matter how those emotions come about, fundamentally they are the same.

Loneliness is…

a state of mind.

The incredible news about this: we can change our mind, anytime.

How?

Through human connection, meditation, journaling, going for device free walks, nature bathing, hugging people we love, talking through things that are troubling us, raging and screaming on the highway behind the steering wheel, smashing pillows and primal screaming… you get the gist.

The very beginning of my signature course Purposefully Clear (it wasn’t actualised until October 2020). The entire intention, to get more connected and feel less alone.

There’s a catch though…

It’s important that we do find people that are more similar to us than different to us. It reduces avoidance and increases safety. When we feel safe enough we share, we lean in, we let our guard down, we allow ourselves to be a little more vulnerable than usual.

When we’re constantly surrounded by people that are nothing like us, it further accentuates our ‘differences’. This strengthens our ego and leads to inaction and avoidance cycles.

In 2018 I did this needs & values assessment. I have had all my clients go through it since. It helps us better understand what we really NEED.

This values assessment was done over 5 years ago and it still holds true. I have to revisit it when life feels lonely and unfulfilling, it gets me back on track.

Last week I wrote about “chronic tolerance” (a term one of my clients from the members club coined).

When we chronically tolerate loneliness, we are giving power to our ego. This can lead to feelings of hopelessness, stuckness, things not working and a deep desire to be rescued.

When we lean in, share, do the opposite of what we’re used to, we are giving power to love. This can lead to feelings of inner power, flow, synchronicities, financial abundance and confidence.

I personally prefer love.

When my ego is strong, my life tends to feel sucky and lonely.

When my ego is weak (because of nourishing connection and minimal separation, my life tends to flow and I manifest quickly).

Would you like to do the needs assessment I showed above? To better understand yourself? If so, hit reply and I’ll get that over to you.
