I lost 6kg in 2023, here's how šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

Hey ,

Ready for a novel, including pics?

2023 was a slooooow start. In the early stages I was still recovering from typhoid fever that I contracted in Nov ā€˜22 from contaminated food in Bali 🤢

When folks say your energy and mental health begin and end in your gut, they’re not wrong. Since being ā€˜single’ vaccinated I had never been more sick with flu’s, gastro etc and typhoid fever really took the cake.

In 2023 I made some bold decisions to let go of a few things that didn’t serve me anymore, one of them being an entrepreneur community I was part of that wasn’t a values fit, another being a piece of land I purchased and then defaulted on, resulting in losing $45k and lastly, a final goodbye to any form of contact with my Dad.

I also lost a ton of money from not working and lived on my savings for close to 2 years, that was also SO hard for my ego but was absolutely necessary for this next evolution.

Oh, I also hiked 61km on the Greenstone Caples track and lost 5 toenailsšŸ¦¶šŸ»šŸ˜„šŸ™‹šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

With letting go, there is also the inevitable promise of spring and new beginnings

  1. I hired a nutrition coach in May of 2023, Justin, who helped me lose 6kg (and counting) by eating more and doing less (who knew). Justin changed my entire diet, my energy levels, my gut health, my vitality and my zest for life. I felt like I was going in circles when it came to diet and weight loss and I needed to process a bunch of diet trauma from childhood, watching the women in my life cycle through Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers. Working with Justin, put simply, gave me my physical life force back after typhoid, c-vd, trauma and moving home to New Zealand. I’ve never been more in love with my body. It feels so uncomfortable to share body shots in a newsletter but here we are šŸ’œ

  1. I brainstormed and spent hours, upon hours, upon hours, giving birth to The Messy Action Members Club and contemplating who it’s for, what it represents and why it’s so needed. It’s a very real solution to the loneliness and isolation online coaches and healers experience when they’re running a soul business. It’s a place to be seen, heard, accepted and validated so you can go out there, show the world your gifts and make some really epic money in doing so.

  1. I launched the Messy Action Members Club in August, with 2 people joining. Then 3. Then 4. Then 5 and on we go (excited for those of you that will feel the call for 2024, send me a note). It’s a community of conscious creatives that are sensitive artists at their core, with an entrepreneurial spirit, that want to build a financially sustainable coaching business whilst bringing more love and healing to this planet through their soul gifts. Watching this community expand has been nothing short of magic and the offers created, money made and connections formed is exactly why it exists

  1. I went on a pilgrimage of sorts, I often don’t choose these experiences, they’re often chosen for me by source, I listen, answer the call and trust the process that life is asking of me. Of course, when you leap, the net is always there, it’s the listening then leaping that we fear the most.

  1. I began my pilgrimage on the Gold Coast, Australia at the Sofitel reading my friend Lucie’s copy of The Creative Act by Rick Rubin and saying a final goodbye to my Dad via email, then down to Mullumbimby, Bangalow and Byron Bay where I experienced a profound tea ceremony at Cloud Hidden with my friend Prue then headed up to Brisbane. I went from Brisbane to Honolulu then over to San Francisco. In San Francisco I created the Messy Action Members Club sales page video and kicked it into life. From SF I flew to London for my friends wedding, then London to Barcelona, Barcelona to Naples, Capri, Bari, Martina Franca, Alberobello then over to Geneva in Switzerland where I visited La Fouly (and had the most spiritual experience of my life to date, a baptism of sorts at a beautiful river). I also visited Lucerne, Ibach, Schwyz, Lausanne, GruyĆØres and Verbier. I flew from Geneva back to London, getting slammed for oversized hand luggage and onto Los Angeles. I went to my fav burrito spot on Main called Holy Guacamole, caught up with a friend, watched a Venice Beach sunset and boarded my Air New Zealand flight home, spending 5 hours of the flight curating Pinterest vision boards for the future I am feeling into and creating.

  1. I got home from my travel and began to immediately experience mould symptoms: heart rate dropping, fatigue, brain fog etc and knew I needed to get the f*** out of my house. Thankfully a friend pointed it out when I asked FB for help.

  1. After going through a process with my landlords, it was evident they weren’t gonna fix the mould and as always, when we leap the net appears, I got a house literally days after deciding I was out, regardless of whether I could find something else.

  1. I moved into my dream home in Nov 2023, it has floor to ceiling windows, is brand new and insulated to a European grade, the bedrooms are set in the forest and the living space and deck overlook trees, expansive bush and a vast ocean. I have a lush kitchen, Miele appliances and an office that looks out to the ocean and forest, too. Something of this spec was on my vision board for 3 years and I am finally in it, it feels really good and ironically, the rent is still cheaper than my 1 bedroom mouldy LA cottage.

  1. I rediscovered my confidence, my purpose and my innate sense of direction that was so lost during c-vd, post vaccination, feeling unable to work and ā€˜losing so much money’ when the memory recovery began to occur.

  1. Last but not least, I joined my local library, which I haven’t done since I was a child and I found a book, on childhood sexual abuse by Dr. Michelle Steven’s, the book is called Scared Selfless and I resonated with many aspects. I reached out to Michelle and asked if we could meet as I’d like her to be my new therapist. We’ve had 3 sessions so far and I am so grateful I found her, that source dropped her into my world and I feel a lot safer with her in it.

I haven’t had Facebook or Instagram on my phone since December 22nd and I feel so much better for it. I may have them off my phone as the norm, add them if I really need to and then delete them again shortly after for 2024. I have intermittently checked these platforms on my computer but haven’t felt the need to scroll any feeds, I invite you to try it!

My 2023 recap is a little late as I’ve been dining, beaching, reading (finished Strange Sally Diamond, The Seven Sister’s Book 1 and Four Thousand Weeks during the break) and spent time with family and friends.

I am so excited for this year! I hope you are too, the energy feels really fresh and open.

P.S. - I am committed to some curated in person experiences on Waiheke Island and Rotorua this year for coaches, conscious business owners and entrepreneurs to create consistent and abundant cash flow that supports both their business and personal needs whilst connecting and marvelling in luxury and nature.

Stay tuned šŸ’–
