That One Time I Did Ayahuasca Alone In Colombia 😆🌴

We’re told people are either security conscious or freedom driven.

Have you ever thought maybe there is just one type of person, they’re scared, they’re anxious but…

What separates one person from the other is

One takes messy action toward their fear.

The other is avoidant, rationalises & stays put, shying away.

In Feb 2022, I headed solo to Colombia, Putumayo to be exact, Villagarzon, basically in the middle of the jungle and well away from what I’d always known. I was at a Fit For Service summit in Austin with Matthew Hussey & Aubrey Marcus, on the second to last evening I asked Aubrey if I should go to Colombia to this particular plant medicine ceremony, he said it’ll be hard but if it feels aligned, go for it. So I did… 4 days later I flew Austin —> Houston —> Bogota —> Villagarzon (also single vaccinated) and then after a few days at the Hilton, got on the back of a complete strangers motorcycle and headed to the jungle for 10 days, on my own 😵‍💫😂

I was in Bogota, eating grilled salmon and plain veggies at the Hilton Garden Inn thinking wtf am I doing, this is where drug cartels reside, this is where women are trafficked (I had just seen an OUR post on rescuing kids in Colombia 🫤). Why am I here voluntarily to take plant medicine in the jungle by my fucking self?

I lost it. Called my friend Lucie and said “I am voluntarily putting myself in danger, what is wrong with me?” - in which she replied “you are so safe, I am here, you’ve got this” & I cried, ate my grilled salmon and plain veggies, fell asleep and boarded the plane the next day.

Having coached huuundreds of people, I have to say I’ve never met anyone that isn’t scared for their next evolution.

I’ve never met anyone that isn’t scared about leaving something behind.

I’ve never met anyone that isn’t scared about it not working out or ruining everything.

I’ve also never met anyone that hung on to what was no longer for them and thrived…

I have met many brave people, that chose trust, courage & faith over fear, uncertainty and stuckness.

What we’re all looking for is someone in this life that believes in us.

That person is you. Dooooh, it was always you. It’s been you this whole time.

Give the love, adoration, faith, trust and love to yourself first. Give it to you.

Stop what you’re doing, acknowledge the fear.

Talk to yourself in the mirror, with loving kindness.

I just wanna remind you, you’ve done scary things in the past too & you’ve overcome them.

Allow yourself to “entertain the idea” of being free of whatever is not for you.

How does it feel?

What comes up?

In time, you’ll either decide to let it go or the universe will make it unbearable to stay.

It always has and always will be up to you.
