Are you taking advice from people that don’t live how you wanna live?
There’s no such thing as a wrong decision.
It’s in the deciding that we get that intuitive hit as to whether something is a yes or no.
The main way we slip up is when we so badly want to land on something, someone or somewhere and the universe says no. The opposite is actually true. Grrrr, it can feel so annoying.
Let me give you an example.
Today, someone I’d briefly met at the start of the year reached out as we’re both in London and she wanted to explore my offers and have a coffee.
We met at WeWork and she inspired me to write this email.
She has tried her hand at many things, is very intelligent but a lot of the ‘direction’ she had received was from well meaning, unaligned people.
She reached out to me because I live my life they way she would like to live her life and she noticed we have similar values.
Those values being
Service
Spirituality
Travel
Honesty
Financial Independence
If you’re taking advice from people that aren’t mirroring who you’d like to be or don’t live how you’d like to live, I suggest you stop.
Values are so important. We must take messy action toward something that is both valuable to us and aligned with our values.
If you feel like you keep hitting a brick wall or roadblocks and the people in your life aren’t mirroring back to you the kind of life you’d like to live, here’s your invitation to take messy action toward something else.
Sometimes the only information we have or need is that it’s ‘not this’.
I always say to clients or folks I meet, tell me what you don’t want, tell me what doesn’t resonate, tell me why this person doesn’t align with your values.
The opposite is true for who you really are and what you’re becoming/stepping into.
Self trust is built through learning from people you respect and admire, taking messy action away from what you don’t want and toward what you maybe might want.
And guess what, you maybe might not want it, but at least you know now. Not taking action delays the inevitable.
Only then, will you gain more clarity and a few more clues as to who you are becoming and what you stand for.
When you get this part right, the who you serve really does come into view and not a moment before.
