“Trust what gives you peace.” 💆‍♀️

Fellow 🦢 and no ducks 🦆 to be seen 😎

I was listening to Brianna Wiest’s 101 Essays To Change the Way You Think today on my excursion around Geneva. The city is truly beautiful & swimming in the lake was just what I needed.

A quote that stood out was:

“Trust what gives you peace.”

I’ve been traveling for 6 weeks now and I am experiencing pockets of peace but nothing like what I experience when I am grounded in my rituals, routines and own space.

How do I know this?

Well, in the last 6 weeks I’ve been to:

Gold Coast

Brisbane

Byron Bay

San Francisco

Larkspur

Mt Tam

Muir Beach

London

Barcelona

Capri

Naples

Bari

Martina Franca

Alberobello

Monopoli

Polignano A Mare

Geneva

Arzier

Verbier

La Fouly

That’s Australia, USA, England, Spain, Italy & Switzerland 😮‍💨

That’s a lot of movement. I had to experience the opposite of stillness in order to appreciate and root into what I actually want and what really gives me peace.

For most of my twenties, moving about, roaming free and seeing the world gave me so much peace. I loved the experience of not knowing what was around the corner.

Fast forward to my now 31 year old self and it doesn’t bring as much peace anymore. I’ve done it extensively.

It feels complete. Much like being single feels complete.

Being single used to bring me peace. Now I want to share my life with someone.

I often learn and re-learn the same lessons over and over again.

Here’s 10 recent lessons

Lesson 1: I love routine.

Lesson 2: I need to shake up my life because I can experience monotony by living in routine forever.

Lesson 3: Other countries, people and perspectives help solidify my values and desires.

Lesson 4: The grass isn’t greener but one must set off on a quest in order to find their treasure, aka the philosophers stone aka the elixir of life otherwise one will be forever wondering.

Lesson 5: Simplicity is the key to contentment.

Lesson 6: No one knows what gives you peace more than you, do more of it.

Lesson 7: Perspective is granted at 35,000 ft. Get on a plane.

Lesson 8: Love is all there is.

Lesson 9: Experiences are best shared with aligned people.

Lesson 10: Having shared values is more important than any form of ‘companionship’.

I have traveled extensively solo for the past 14 years and the realisations and lessons that occur collapse time. I wouldn’t have gained the wisdom I have gained if I’d stayed in one place and not experienced all I have experienced.

Gravitate toward what gives you peace and move away from the conditions that breed anxiety and depression -

People Pleasing = Anxiety

Isolation = Depression

When we don’t know how to set boundaries, claim what we want or say no, we isolate to avoid pain.

When we isolate, we get experience more pain, get depressed and feel we’re not part of the cosmic whole.

Support and connection with values aligned folks is the key.

If you could do with some self inquiry around what really gives you peace, what you actually want and how you want to live, for yourself, the Soul Lift Bundle is on sale for $30 off for the next 72 hours with code WSHOP.
