Do you want your own coaching business, but stop yourself from starting?

First retreat I attempted to host in 2018 - I didn’t get enough people. It took 14 more months and a lot of reach outs before I was able to host one in the exact same location with 13 women who paid double the price above.

I’ve had multiple people reach out to me recently with the following and I wonder if any of these questions or statements apply to you too

  1. Them: “I am constantly coaching people for free, I know I am meant to be a coach.”

  1. Them: “How did you start your coaching business?”

Me: By posting statements like this 6+ years ago directed at teen girls on social media because I felt like an imposter coaching people my own age or older than me.

  1. Them: “I am thinking about going back to uni to do a psychology degree”

Me: “Tell me why you won’t just start now”

    Them: “I am not qualified”

Me: “You don’t need to be qualified, you need to help people get results, which takes actually starting, if you still wanna study after you’ve tried, at least you’ll know.”

  2. Them: “I just wouldn’t want to deal with people’s trauma/addiction and say the wrong thing if I wasn’t qualified”

Me: “Being ‘qualified’ doesn’t mean you’ll say the right thing, being informed helps.”

Me: “It seems you’re experiencing a courage problem, not an information problem.”

  3. Them: “I’ve been working on x with my therapist.”

Me: “That’s awesome, how often do you go to therapy?

    Them: “Once every few months”

    Me: “👀
”

  4. Me: “No, I just took the leap and started. Here’s the Karpman Drama Triangle.”

Me: “Here’s Facing Codependence by Pia Mellody.”

Them: “I am definitely a rescuer, I know I am meant to be a coach.”

Me: “🙃 stepping out of the triangle is the first step in becoming a powerful coach.”

  5. “I have such bad imposter syndrome thanks to my ex”

    Me:

Quotes I blutacked on my bathroom door in 2018

If you want to be a coach, it’s safe to admit it to yourself.

If you want time freedom, you want to work for yourself and transform peoples lives, let that desire course through you.

Until you acknowledge it, it’ll keep pestering you.

People that are living out your dream will also trigger you.
